No Longer Full Time RVers

After all of our troubles coming through California, and with repairs hopefully  behind us, we arrived here in Phoenix at Valle Del Oro around the middle of October.  We missed seeing the balloon festival in Albuquerque, NM, but there is always next year.

We settled in to VDO, renewed old friendships and began our 'volunteer' jobs of setting up tables and chairs for events.  As usual, lots to do, lots of fun to be had and lots of laughs.

But one day,  with nothing special to do, we were out and about looking at other RV parks and some of the park models and modular homes that were on the market.   On our way back home, we passed a 55+ community just down the road from VDO, and Deane said "lets just take a look".

So in we go, and we end up talking with a sales person, who says "let me just show you a couple we have".  The fourth and last place was being marketed as being sold fully furnished, and it was in our price range.

We walked into this cute 1100sq. ft. home, full of natural light from windows and skylights, with an Arizona room, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open concept layout, and the house is only 10 years old.

Moving Day

Long story short.....we were back the next day signing offer papers, and 30 days later we were leaving VDO and moving into a new home.

It was a very long two days to get our things out of the RV and into the house.  We discovered in our move, that if the house did not have a storage room, we would not have enough room for all of our things.  Our RV actually has more storage space in it than the house.


As the first day of moving came to a close, we were treated to one of this area's spectacular sunsets.










So, our status of being Full time RVers has changed to official Snow Birds.  Our intent is to keep the RV in storage during the winters, and head back to the NW in the summer to visit grand kids (oh yea, their parents too).

We now have 2 bedrooms (and 2 bathrooms, yea!) and Casa de Rader is open for visitors.  We are planning on being here from October to mid April and would love to have you come and visit.
