First day

There was a period of time last month when we doubted we would make our deadline of the 3rd.  We had a freeze before Christmas, and the pipes in the RV froze and broke.  Deane fixed what he could, but the damage was more than we thought.  So it was in the shop until the 30th which gave us 4 days to put the RV back together and get everything packed up from home, moved and stored in the RV.  We managed to get it all done and actually drove out of the driveway at by noon today.

The weather is great, we got just south of Roseburg today, stopping at 7 Feathers Casino and RV Park.  They have a great indoor pool and hot tub. Interesting people you meet.  We met a couple from California who were heading to Oregon to spend the week.  We joked about how we want out of the rain and snow, and they were looking forward to it.

We will continue towards Redding tomorrow, most likely stopping at Lake Shasta area tomorrow night and then into Redding on Tuesday to visit with Deane's cousin Ty Cobb and his wife Jeannie.

Traveling in an RV is an experience.  Very limited space compared to home, but if you organize, you would be amazed at how much we actually brought with us.  I feel as if I have everything I need, nothing was really left behind I felt  I needed or wanted.  We even brought the Wii.  Shopping at Costco is definetely out of the question.  :)  You just have to be careful opening any cabinet door after driving... never know what is going to fall out on you.  Our first casuality was a new bottle of tabasco sauce that I put at the front of the shelf instead of behind other more non breakable items, live and learn!
