A day of four firsts

Deane has been RV'g for over 40 years and there is not much he has not seen west of Yellowstone to San Francisco and from Alaska to Arizona.  So much of what I am seeing on our RV trip is new to me and not him.  But today on our trip to Florida, Deane had some new experiences.

We flew out of Phoenix under gray skies and rain, and even tho it was still warm it was easy enough to leave.  Thanks again to my brother and Mary for the ride to the airport.

Our first stop on our way to Florida was Houstin Texas.   This was the first of Deane's new experiences, as he has never been in Texas.  Now his claim to being in Texas only amounts to our plane landing at gate C41 and our having to walk to gate C40 to catch our connecting flight, but he can at least say he has been in Texas.

His second first was flying first class.  We upgraded our tickets for the second half of the flight to Ft. Lauderdale and Wahoo!.... he is hooked!!!!!!  So much nicer to sit side by side in leather seats and be pampered, than crushed in a seat that is 13 inches wide and gives you 8 inches of leg room with another guy sitting on the other side of you hogging the arm piece.

His third first was being in Florida. We landed about 10:00pm here in 68 degrees, and lo and behold his sinsus were not as congested as they have been while in Arizona.

And a first for both of us is staying the first night of our offical honeymoon in a 5-star hotel on the beach of the Atlantic Ocean.  The Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa  in Hollywood Florida is amazing.  The room they gave us has an exercise bike, balance ball, yoga mat, and free weights (do you think they took one look at us and thought we might need them?).  Too bad we are only here for one night.

Well, this may be the last I write until we get off the boat as we hear it is quite expensive to use the internet on board.  But if we can, we will try and post while we cruise.

So we will say good night as we begin our honeymoon.
